We left out a generator on this image; however, a generator could certainly be considered for a system design of this level.

Note: We do not recommend 12 volt type (marine deep cycle or starting) batteries for any system, they have been shown for clarity only.

At minimum, 6 volt golf cart batteries are generally a better option for small to medium sized systems. 12 volt batteries are an option only when you do not wish to utilize your battery power to run emergency loads during a power outage. Larger (off grid) systems should consider batteries more specifically designed to handle repeated (deep) cycling.
